Yay! I've been saying for months that I'm gunna move away from Darlinghurst. Today it finally happened. I'm out of that dump with it's cockroaches, dankness and smell of stale pot smoke. It was done and over with before you could say bong water.
Reasons for moving have been the same for months (years?). Basically the last place I couldn't get bread and milk from the local 7-11 without passing my favourite pub/nightspot. This caused problems on the weekend, where if I was trying to have a quiet one, I'd pass to get smokes or something and get yelled at by my mates to come in and have a beer. Usually once that happened I wouldn't go home until early the next morning.
The impetus for this move, however, is a lovely Japanese girl called Tomoko. I haven't blogged anything about this amazing woman before because, frankly, I'm sick of hooking up with a girl only to have it not work out. Naturally I didn't wanna get your hopes up :-)
Anyway this girl is so cool. She's quite interesting plus she's cute, funny, and sexy. And she seems to trust me. I haven't had a girl trust me so easily before. I guess they've all had something go wrong in previous relationship or some shit. But this chick has no baggage that I've come across that hasn't been completely dealt with. She's like me in so many ways.
We've been going strong for 6 months and decided to move in together. I wanted to move away from Darlinghurst to try and get some more time together. I'd always feel like such a goose when "those" Saturdays would roll around and I'd roll in from the pub at 4am. She never said anything about it, other than ask if I'm alright. But it'd basically mean Sunday in bed... which sounds great I guess but not when it's compulsory :-)
This apartment is really cool. OK you'd better keep in mind here that I've just come from a terrace with the following features:
- Flatmate who plays loud music, has no job and deals pot
- Filthy disgusting bathroom
- Swarms of fucking cockroaches. And I'm talking the massive, flying ones here.
- It's right next to an alley where occasionally one can hear muggings and gunshots (it's basically central Sydney)
Not the most charming place in the world.
This new joint is great. It's totally clean, in a nice apartment block not one of those homogeneous new bastards that they love building these days, it's got a park right behind it and is away from the road. Looking out my window and seeing heaps of trees is great. So relaxing.
<rant>Does this stupid fucking blogger spell check actually remember anything when you click "learn"? This is the umpteenth time I've added "fucking" to my personal dictionary. Jesus fucking christ!</rant>
