Machine room from hell

This would have to be the crappiest machine room I've ever seen. As I'm sitting here waiting for FC5 to finish installing,
I can see bits of old velcro cable tidies and chunks of plastic from god only knows where all over the floor. A little further down there are a few chunks of wood and a discarded tissue. I didn't know they let carpenters with runny noses into this joint. The grill door of the rack next to the one I'm working on is warm to the touch, and if I get up and walk up and down the isle there are quite noticeable temperature fluctuations. I wish I brought a camera, the cables coming out of some of these racks are reminiscent of illustrations of the hanging gardens of Babylon. Man this place is a dump.
Ever read any sci-fi where some pilot who's crash landed lives in his busted up ship for 10 years? I bet it would be cleaner than this.
Ugh.
And this is a frikkin government department. These systems are supposed to process your taxes amongst other things! (assuming you live in New South Wales)

10g

2006-06-17 001

I've just had my ear piercing stretched out to 10 gauge from 14. I expected it to hurt like a motherfucker but it's actually not that bad. When I first got it done (at 14g) I almost passed out, whereas my nipple caused barely any pain. Funny that. Anyway I'm aiming for an 8 gauge tunnel; should be ok for work. That's really the kicker, I'd probably have way more tattoos. I really wanna get a tat done on my inner forearm, I reckon that looks kick ass, but I don't know how well it would go down with employers. Sucks huh?

Work? Hard?

How cool is this: the CIO just drove past while I was out having a smoke and yelled out: 'Night Matt! Don't work too hard!

Any other boss probably would have yelled: Get back to work!

ha!

We love sounds 06

I've just been blown away by a band - not as much as I was when Nirvana first came out but pretty bloody close to it. The Presets played at We Love Sounds. It's like a funky mix of electro and 80's music. Fan-bloody-tastic.

I also really wanted to check out Grandmaster Flash, although none of my mates went. After about 20 minutes I could see why. He went on for about 10 minutes talking about shit and trying to rev the crowd up some more. He started the set with OPP, but kept turning down the volume so we could sing along.. But he did this way too much. Then he would like stop altogether and try to make the crowd jump (I wanna see everybody jump). Everyone around me was like, play some fucking music!

He basically sucked. I left and went and saw [what I think was] DJ Sneak instead. They were actually working their smaller crowd so much better.

Tiefschwarz were also really cool. Like a dark sounding German hardcore mix. Really good stuff. Almost didn't get in, we actually did a trick that one of my friends has done before, just go to the front of the queue and act like you've been there for hours. Nobody said anything. We would have been waiting for literally hours getting in and missed most of the set otherwise. Anyway, asses were danced off.
