Back to the Bourbon

I started work back at "The Bourbon" last night. I had a little 4 week holiday from there after a family emergency required that I fly down to Melbourne. Stupidly I forgot to tell anyone I couldn't come into work that night so my punishment was 4 weeks without any shifts.

For those who don't live in Sydney, the bourbon is a bar in Kings Cross. Formally known as the Bourbon and beefsteak it's been redone into a wanna-be wanker bar.

I kinda like being a glassy at the bourbon. Well I had fun last night anyway... Sure you have to pick up peoples glasses and generally clean up after them, but you can have fun with the punters at the same time... 'Specially fun when there's loads of cute girls there, like last nite :-)

But wait there's more. Aside from the obvious benefits of walking around a bar chock-a-block full of pretty girls all night waiting on tables, drunk people leave all sorts of goodies behind for the opportunistic glassy. Money, ciggies, purses (so many!), jackets... I do hand in peoples wallets, jackets, phones and the like but leaving packets of smokes and cash on the floor or abandoned on tables to me is just like saying, "thanks for cleaning my table. Here, have some money/ciggies".

All up if you're looking for a job where it's just like going out every weekend, working in a bar is great, with excellent side-benefits. Only catch is you don't really have that much time to chat and you have to stay at least a bit sober ;-)

blogging

well this is where you are supposed to write about stuff. But, WTF am I going to put here? Probably just random bullshit such as this post.. or maybe interesting things I come across at work or while on the computer.. I mean there has to be something in this right? otherwise why would people bother.
